First couples counseling scheduled for next week.
I am reminding myself that he is going without arguing, persuading, begging. None of it. He just agreed to go, and that in and of itself shows commitment.
I think it’s easy to fall into the vilification whirlwind when we are hurt and angry, and I’m making a conscious effort not to do that.

Short update
G5 and I went out for dinner and bowling with DD and Son in law. It was their treat for Mother’s Day. Whole evening went fine. Both men were a little hesitant at first but by the end of the night everything was relaxed and fun with all getting along.
Whew.
Looking forward to our first session on Thursday.

Had our first couples counseling session this evening.
When the counselor asked if we felt like he was a good fit for us G5 said, "Definitely!". When he tried to schedule the next session for two weeks out G5 said, "Do we have to wait that long? Can we meet next week? I can do 5:00 if that gives us more options.".
I was really happy to see him engaging and being interested/invested in the sessions. Will see what happens.
